Many people who have come to the United States from foreign countries  have already studied English.

They  may       have             done well. = studied

( They                  have                  done well.) Họ vừa học giỏi.

(They    may                                   do    well.)=

( Họ      hổng chừng=40%              học giỏi.)

(They    may          have                  done well.)=

(Họ hổng chừng                     học giỏi. 30%)

But when they arrive here, they may not understand much of   

       what they hear or read.

(Nhưng khi họ đến đây, họ hổng chừng không hiểu nhiều về cái họ nghe hoặc đọc.)
